What an incredible and inspiring story. With the dark clouds of ultra nationalism and tyranny growing around us it is healthy and necessary to remember the past.
These words resonated so strongly with me: “Even if remembrance can sometimes be uncomfortable, it is no excuse to turn away from it. If we focus only on the present and leave the rest to others, we risk losing sight of the lessons of history — in a world where humanity holds the power to destroy itself. Silence leads to forgetting and forgetting erases remembrance.”

Fascinating and very readable – gives a great overview of a lot of the resistance activity throughout Europe in 1939-45 not just one man, although he was quite a figure in Belgium and Luxembourg. Just shows how the real heroes are modest and unassuming. A lesson for modern times.
